Unlocking All 17 Achievements in Terra Nil: A Complete Guide

If you are a fan of city-building games, you’ll love Terra Nil! In Terra Nil, you play as a nature enthusiast tasked with restoring a devastated planet to its former glory. The game features 17 different achievements to unlock, and while some are easy to obtain, others require more skill and patience. In this post, we will give you a step-by-step guide on how to unlock all 17 achievements in Terra Nil.

Restoration Achievements

The first five achievements are restoration achievements, which require you to restore different areas of the planet. Here’s how to unlock them:

  • Valley of the Wind: Complete and submit the first map.
  • Open-cast Reclamation: Complete and restore the second map in the Temperate Region.
  • Flooded Isles: Complete and repair the second map in the Tropical Region.
  • Northern Glaciation: Complete and repair the second map in the Polar Region.
  • Urban Renewal: Complete and restore the second map in the Continental Region.

To unlock Global Rejuvenation, you need to completely restore the planet by completing eight maps from each of the four regions.

Complete Biome Achievements

The next three achievements require you to discover all animal species and fully restore climate conditions and biomes in different regions:

  • Abundant Life: Tropical Region
  • Beneath the Snow: Polar Region
  • Oryx and Crake: Continental Region

To unlock these achievements, you need to pay close attention to the needs of each animal and restore the biomes and climate conditions accordingly. The task may require you to restart the region more than once, but it is mostly trial and error.

Aerial View Achievement

To unlock the Aerial View achievement, you need to take a full map screenshot using the Screenshot mode. You can access this by clicking on the “options” button in the top left corner or hitting the escape key on the keyboard. Screenshot mode is third in the menu, and you can choose which screen you want a shot of or the entire screenshot.

Screensaver Achievement

To unlock the Screensaver achievement, you need to appreciate the beauty of nature for at least 60 seconds. This happens when you finish the map, and the recycle ship picks up the little boat. From there, you can choose to “Continue” and “Appreciate.” The achievement will be given automatically when you click “Appreciate.”

Antarctic Oasis Achievement

To unlock the Antarctic Oasis achievement, you need to restore the Volcanic Glacier while still maintaining at least 15 Lava Tiles. The trick is not to let the map drop below 0degC, or the lava tiles will become stone. This means you have to earn the achievement first, then earn Beneath Snow the second time, or vice versa, since you can’t complete all the climate conditions and earn the achievement.

Minecraft Rocks! Achievement

To unlock the Minecraft Rocks! achievement, you need to cause lava and river flow to meet and create rock. You can do this on the Volcanic glacier map in the Polar Region. Use the Seismic Detonator at one of the coasts or use the Abandoned Granite map. This unlocks after completing the Continental map Flooded City. You will need the Water Pump to create a river, and then the Seismic Detonator can be used on a nearby fissure.

Wildfire Achievement

To unlock the Wildfire achievement, you need to torch 25 buildings in a single incident. You can do this with any map with the Solar Amplifier. Use the Toxin Scrabers to create fertile soil and make sure the area is of a good size, at least medium to large, on the same levels, and all connected. Build the area with buildings, but avoid building on rocks. Use the Solar Amplifier with a Fynbos or River tile to light it on fire. You will earn the achievement as long as there are enough buildings.

Marine Haven Achievement

To unlock the Marine Haven achievement, you need to restore the tropical region where at least 40% is underwater. This award can be earned using the Archipelago map. The Undersea Dredger can be used to control the amount of land included on the map vs. water. Once the map is at least 50% covered with land, stop using it and go through each phase.

Goldilocks Achievement

To unlock the Goldilocks achievement, you need to allow three bears to live on other hills in the River Valley. To do this, put a hill in each corner and make sure the hills have Forest tiles nearby. It doesn’t matter how the Beehives create Fynbos fields.

Perfect Location Achievement

To unlock the Perfect Location achievement in Terra Nil, you need to construct an Animal Observatory near the intersections of 4 different Tier 2 biomes. This is the hardest achievement to achieve, and you will need to reference this guide for help.

The Volcanic glacier map will show a small hill at the bottom of the map, and this map will also have at least one fissure.

Complete phase 1 as normal, then make the Seismic Detonator create the lava lake around the hill. After that, place the Geothermal Plant on top of the hill and leave the area well alone.

Once you finish phase 2, use the Radial Excavator to create a volcanic lake and collect dirt from the map. Move the dirt to other places using the Monorail Nodes, and create a sheer rock connected to the Kelp forests tiles.

Place the Greenery tiles onto the hilltop and in the new land, and adjust the amount of Building Husk piles required for the Arboretum to make the Boreal Forest.

Place an Irrigator nearby to create Greenery Tiles before creating the Boreal Forest tiles. This is to plan how the Tundra tiles, which are floral-colored, will be placed near the Animal Observatory.

Use the Algae Greenhouse on your Irrigator to create the Lichen, and place the Animal Observatory. All four biomes will be available when you place the Animal Observatory.

Conclusion

Terra Nil is a game that combines city-building and environmental restoration, making it a unique and exciting game to play. Unlocking all 17 achievements can be challenging, but with this step-by-step guide, you’ll be able to do it in no time. Keep in mind that some achievements may require you to restart a region more than once, but with patience and perseverance, you’ll be able to restore the planet to its former glory and unlock all achievements.
